Life in the Simpson Desert

My good friend James has just returned from a photography trip up into the north of South Australia for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Over the next few weeks he’s going to be posting some of the photos he took on his tumblr. Having been fortunate enough to have had a preview tonight, I can assure you that they’re pretty spectacular. Be sure to follow his tumblr to see more.

The desert is very much alive after recent rains, and James has captured it beautifully. Here’s the first one:

This one – from the Simpson Desert, just before the large storm front came through. (That we almost got hopelessly stuck in!)
